HERE WE GO! Liverpool looking to ‘bolster midfield’, ‘Japan + Stuttgart captain’ Endo close to signing…medical on Thursday

Liverpool are expected to sign Wataru Endo.

Transfer market pundit Fabrizio Romano wrote on his social media account on Sunday (July 17),메이저사이트 “Endo is heading to Liverpool. A medical is scheduled for Thursday. The transfer fee is 18 million euros. A personal agreement was finalized a few hours ago. Stuttgart captain Endo leaves for his dreams,” adding the phrase “HERE WE GO,” which is used when a transfer is imminent.

Earlier, Romano reported, “Liverpool have sent an offer to Stuttgart for Endo. Negotiations between the clubs are currently underway. The player himself is keen to take advantage of the opportunity.”

Endo is a 30-year-old Japanese international defensive midfielder who made his professional debut for Shonan Belmare in 2010. He went on to play for Urawa Reds before moving to Sint-Truiden in Belgium in 2018. He did not disappoint, scoring two goals and providing two assists in 31 games across all competitions.

This led to a move to Stuttgart. Initially, it was on loan. In the second division, he quickly made his mark and made 21 league appearances. And then came the permanent move.

Endo really started to make an impact after Stuttgart won promotion to the German Bundesliga in the 2020-21 season. He made 33 Bundesliga appearances in three consecutive seasons until last season. Most notably, he racked up five goals and five assists last season.

He was also recognized for his leadership as he was named captain of the team in 2021. He was set to wear the captain’s armband again this season for Stuttgart, but interest from Liverpool prompted him to make the move.

Liverpool lost a number of midfielders this summer, including Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. They needed reinforcements and have already brought in Alexis Sanchez and Dominik Soboslav. However, we needed to increase our options, which is why we decided to bring in Endo.
