Bayern Munich cruised to a 4-0 victory over Werder Bremen in the opening match of the 2023-24 German Bundesliga behind a goal and an assist from Kane and a multi-goal performance from Leroy Sane (27) at the Weserstadion in Bremen, Germany, at 3:30 a.m. ET today.

Kim and Kane made their official Bundesliga debuts, starting side-by-side. Both players made their official debuts last weekend in the German Super Cup 2023 against Leipzig, coming on as second-half substitutes.

Kim played 68 minutes and had a solid performance. He was steady at the back, protecting Munich’s back line and effectively shutting down the opposition’s longest striker, Niklas Fühlkrug (30).

In the 44th minute, he came close to scoring his debut goal when he headed in a cross from a Munich corner, but was denied by the opposition goalkeeper.

In the sixth minute of the second half, he showed great determination as he ran out to block a shot from an opposing striker who had the ball in an offside position. In the ninth minute of the second half, he was cautioned. He was booked for a foul on an opposing striker as the ball went into the back of the net.

Still not fully fit, Kim was replaced in the 23rd minute by Matthias Der Licht (24), who made a successful Bundesliga debut.

Kane registered his first assist in Germany just four minutes later. His 2-on-1 pass set up Sane for a one-on-one chance to open the scoring.

He added his debut goal in the 30th minute. He was assisted by Alfonso Davies (23) and finished with a simple touch and a right-footed shot for his first goal.

Kane then suffered a slight muscle cramp and was replaced by Matthias Tell (28) in the 38th minute.

Meanwhile, Munich won their Bundesliga opener in style, thanks to a multi-goal performance from Sane and a wedge from substitute Tell. Having bounced back from their Super Cup defeat, the Bavarians will now host Augsburg in the second leg of their league tie on Oct. 28.
