The LG Twins’ bullpen is one of the best in the league. They have a number of powerful bullpen arms that can be relied upon to get the job done no matter what pitcher comes up.

Even on so-called “bullpen days,” LG has often won games with just their bullpen pitchers shutting down opposing bats.

Prior to Choi’s arrival, 바카라사이트 LG always had a long reliever ready to go in the fourth and fifth innings. That’s exactly what Yoo Young-chan (26) did. Yoo is a college graduate from Bae Myung-go and Konkuk University who joined LG in the fifth round of the 2020 second round. After completing his military service last year, he made his first-team debut in four years this season, serving as a bullpen arm.

He emerged like a comet when LG pitchers Jung Seung-jo and Lee Jung-yong faltered at the beginning of the season and was chosen by manager Yoon Kyung-yup as a reliable man card regardless of position. As of the 21st, he has a 3.00 ERA in 45 games with a 5-1 record and eight saves. Most notably, he has only given up one home run in 48 innings pitched. He doesn’t hit many balls for strikes.

Yoo is a pitcher whose strengths are his four-seam fastball and slider, both of which are close to 150km from a soft form. He has a very high slider value and a good fastball movement. Usually, curveballs fall to the bell and sliders fall to the side, but Yoo’s slider falls to the bell. For comparison, it is similar to the sliders of KIA’s Yoon Seok-min and Samsung’s Bae Young-soo in the past. He has a pitch that he can throw confidently even in unfavourable counts.  He’s even been throwing forkballs lately, which has been fun to watch.

LG’s bullpen was frequently called upon in the first half of the season due to the uneasiness of their homegrown starters, and it was pointed out that their bullpen might have stamina issues later in the league. Through it all, Ham Deok-ju, Yoo Young-chan, Baek Seung-hyun, and Park Myung-geun pitched above and beyond expectations and kept the LG bullpen afloat.

Yoo Young-chan, in particular, was an unexpected card. Four years after joining the club, he has blossomed into a native right-hander who can be trusted in any position, including long relief and even starting. He was briefly scratched from the first team in June due to side soreness and had to undergo treatment and rehabilitation, but he should be a solid bullpen arm going forward.

During the season, LG successfully transitioned Lee Jung-yong, who was a bullpen arm until last year, to the starting role. This could have left a hole in the bullpen, but a new face emerged in Yoo Young-chan. With the returning Jung Woo-young and Ko Woo-seok, as well as newcomer Yoo Young-chan, LG is showing off its depth and is on track to win its first championship in 29 years.
