Yoo Yoo-sang, who visited the interview room as an honored player, said, “When I came to the pros, I panicked after experiencing back-to-back losses. However, a team with a strong history is different. I worked hard in my position and tried to keep up with my brothers. There is still a lot of time left in the season, and I will try to finish well so that the team can reach the desired goal.” He expressed his feelings on the victory.
Yoo was the third overall pick in this season’s rookie draft and was a perfect fit for LG’s need for a shooter.
“I talk to my brothers about it, but they say that the first three games were a waste. “I talk to my brothers about it, but they say the first three games were a waste,” he said, adding that the opening three losses were the medicine.
Yoo, who made his presence felt by exploding for six three-pointers, said, “I played more confidently knowing that the defense is different in the pros and college. (Jung) Hee-jae set the screens tighter so that I could shoot, and I felt LG was a stronger team in that regard.”
Yoo also had to deal with some of the league’s best shooting guards, including Jeon Sung-hyun and Heo Woong. “You can say I did a good job because they didn’t score, but in the big picture, I missed a lot of things. I think I’m growing as foreign players point out what I’m doing wrong every time. I don’t think I blocked the seniors in the same position, but the team did,” he said humbly.
Lee Jae-do, who was also in the interview room with Yoo, called Yoo a new weapon for the team.
Although he is still a rookie, Yoo Yoo-sang is enjoying the fruits of his growth as he is consistently given playing time, so let’s see if he can become LG’s new weapon as his teammates say.
