The Korea Under-17 Men’s National Team got off to a disappointing start at the World Cup with a loss in its first game.

The Korea U-17 Men’s National Team, led by Byun Sung-hwan, fell 1-3 to the United States of America in their first match of Group E at the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Wednesday.

With a renewed sense of confidence, Korea managed to level the score at 1-1 in the 35th minute when Yang Min-hyuk’s mid-range shot rebounded off a save by the opposing goalkeeper and was slotted home by Kim Myung-joon, who was on the doorstep.

However, South Korea conceded a second goal in the fourth minute of the second half after a shot by Birchmas and a second shot by Medina, and conceded a wedge goal by Birchmas in the 28th minute of the second half to lose 1-3.
