San Diego-Dodgers confirms MLB Seoul opening series at 7:05 p.m. Playball

The opening time of the 2024 Seoul opening series game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres has been confirmed.

The 2024 MLB opening game between the Dodgers and San Diego, which will take place at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on March 20, will begin at 7:05 p.m. The same applies to the game on March 21.

The MLB Secretariat also holds regular seasons and event games outside of the United States with the aim of globalizing baseball. It is the first time in five years that MLB has played its opening game abroad since the 2019 Tokyo game in Japan, and the first time in Korea. San Diego is drawing attention as it has two Korean players, Kim Ha-sung and Ko Woo-suk. Dodgers is most familiar to Korean fans with its stellar performance by Park Chan-ho and Ryu Hyun-jin, and Japanese pitchers such as Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto have recently signed contracts, drawing keen attention from baseball fans around the world.

The official opening game will kick off at 15 stadiums on March 29.

The San Francisco Giants, who signed a six-year contract with Lee Jung-hoo for a total of $113 million, will play three consecutive games against San Diego from March 29-31.

The Major League Baseball exhibition game will begin at 5:10 a.m. on February 23 with the first game between San Diego and the Dodgers.
